Non explained, except as stated in the quoted post.
  3. It's not health related every bit Nancy has posted that she's "healthy and strong."
Jarleboy and Bob F like this.
  4. Troll related? After a while enough is enough..
  5. The simply explanation they are providing is:

    That'south life. Hey, that's life.

  6. Oh no!! :(
  7. It volition be missed. A lot of nice people in that location.
  8. Will the official Sinatra website nevertheless stay up?

Loved reading and participating in give-and-take most tours, classic and new album releases, and all things Frank...shame to see this go...

    Especially insightful words from Nancy, @Granata Chuck , @Bob F , and @Ronald Sarbo !

  9. Spastica

Spastica Run aground on the floor for y'all....

    Why not?

Our globe we all lived in dorsum then is being wrapped up. Within the next 10 years, nearly of the celebrities from the early-mid 20th century volition be dead. 10 years afterwards that, Gen X will be dealing with losing its icons.

You know how fast 10-20 years goes by?

She probably has more important things to focus on in her remaining years than keeping a website going.

It's lamentable merely similar people say....

It is what information technology is.

  10. I assume social media feels more than "connective" and easier to communicate than a forum, which costs money and such to maintain. IG, twitter, TikTok, any, actually doesn't.

As information technology is in the terminal 10 years this spot has become the only forum I regularly visit. Reddit non included. Information technology's understandable.

  11. Also, many musicians don't carp with a website anymore and apply other social media ways. It can be a lot of work to maintain a social presence and a website so it's really non the surprising.

In its present form, the Sinatra Family Forum is exactly 20 years onetime side by side calendar week. The very get-go thread was started July v, 2001. Before and so—since about 1996 (a yr or two before Frank Sinatra passed away in 1998)—the website existed in a "Guestbook" format.

  13. Does that also mean the discography, including the sessionography etc., that I love to visit from time to time will no longer exist bachelor? That would exist a existent shame. :(
  14. I've found that site to be full of valuable information over the years. Sorry to come across it become.
  15. Matter one: If there's a chance to make certain the Wayback Machine knows where to find whatever you feel worth eternal access...go on information technology. You have, well...one 24-hour interval. Maybe less.

Thing two: from a PR/Marketing standpoint, information technology's truthful, most information is online in more than places than "official" resource ( ) if y'all know where to await. That makes the endeavour some might otherwise expend on a fading and diminishing brand, less problem and cost than it may be worth for them. And they may have finally just ended that, keeping i finger on the legacy of a pop effigy that is already essentially "ours" anyway, doesn't really give them the control or the spin they might otherwise have wanted.

Thing three: Sinatra Family unit ergonomics. It'southward possible that, when the site was started up, there may have been a item taxation advantage in both extending "the make" onto a family-maintained website, but, read the post. She besides mentions information about the Family's charitable achieve around the globe. Now, in no way am I accusing them of using information technology as a "tax dodge", but the fashion revenue enhancement laws accept been re-interpreted so oft...it is possible that, the cost of owning and maintaining the site, maybe offers less of a taxation advantage as in years past. And, were one to incur an audit, and somehow it not meet the requirements of supporting any charitable efforts for the owners, that hypothetical ancillary "benefit" might non be verifiable anymore.

Smarter corporations have done more than with smoke-and-mirrors than they ever have with boldfaced altruism. And over again, I'g not saying this is the example here...it just removes yet another reason the Family unit might detect the effort to keep the website up at the end of the day.

It's not a sin to have to requite up something you love, when everybody already appears to take reaped the benefits of it having existed in the beginning place as it is. And, the dear is even so there.

  16. Interviewed Nancy today and asked near it. She said it had to do with moving the focus over to Instagram and Twitter.
  17. Same hither.

Bob, have you given any thought about where to move the wealth of information that has been accumulated (that in many cases, you lot provided) over the years?

I know you've pointed out that this particular page is long out of date, but as an instance, this is still a valued resource: Frank's Recordings at the Sinatra Family Forum

With all links pointing to SFF, it volition truly become obsolete.

I promise there is a space to maintain at least some of the information y'all've compiled, and build on going frontwards.

  18. I call up its possible to backup a webpage on own pc and utilize it for private reasons even afterward its gone for skilful.
Sadly its been a long time since I read anything releated to Sinatra in the papers or heard him on the radio and so im not surprised that this webpage is closing down.Seen the same thing happened with Elvis….and fifty-fifty Michael Jackson sites even despite its just 12 years since he died.
  19. Easy to do.

    Internet Archive: Wayback Machine

In that location's a Save Folio Now office on the main page.

  20. Such distressing news. And then I guess you will all have to put up with me over here more than often.

    :buttkick:

    I need my Sinatra fix.

  21. The sessionography was priceless. And information technology was so helpful because information technology was updated regularly. Swell loss. Information technology was all there. Alternate takes and where to find them. Fifty-fifty all the international pressings were listed. The Sessionography was the well-nigh perfect source of them all.
  22. Will whatsoever valuable information be lost? I gotta figure some people accept put a lot of endeavour into their posts. Shame it will disappear.
  23. When I heard the news, I came here to SH.Idiot box today expecting/looking for this very thread. There is a TON of useful information over there --including really comprehensive recording sessionography, radio appearances, release info, Bob's tireless, inestimable research, even a Christmas glutinous thread -- that I have been referring to, sometimes nightly, for years. I hope wayback or some other method comes to the rescue.
